Card Player Poker Tour Bicycle Casino Main Event Draws 112 For First Of Three Starting Flights

The $400,000 guaranteed Card Player Poker Tour main event at the Bicycle Hotel & Casino kicked off Saturday as part of the Big Poker October series with the first of three starting flights.

The $1,100 buy-in tournament drew 112 entries for day 1a, including notables such as David “The Dragon” Pham, Owen Crowe, Joey Weismann, Duey Duong, Bobby Suer, Daniel Strelitz and even MMA ring announcer Bruce Buffer.

In the end, only 25 percent of the field, or the final 28 players would advance to day 2. Leading the way is Larry Quang, who enjoyed a great day on the felt to bag up with 305,400. Robert Mitchell was his closest competitor, taking 284,500 into day 2. The next nearest player was Gladys Landegger with 186,300.

If you’d like to play in the main event this weekend, there is still plenty of time to register. Players can enter day 1b and day 1c on Sunday and Monday, or even take advantage of the tournament’s quantum reload structure, which allows players to buy-in to day 2 directly on Tuesday, receiving an average stack of 60 big blinds.
