The European Poker Tour (EPT) is heading to Malta for 76 action-packed tournaments across 12 days from Oct. 21-31 at the world-class Portomaso Casino. This also coincides with the 50thItalian Poker Tour (IPT) taking place at the same time.
As you might imagine, the highlight of the poker festival is the seven-day EPT Malta Main Eventoccurring Oct. 25-31. As is usually the case, this event features a hefty €5,300 buy-in, however, players can qualify in cheaper via many satellites running online at PokerStars.
In addition to the plethora of side-events running in just about any poker format you can think of, this poker festival is introducing a few new types of games that are likely to be popular.
First off, throughout the poker festival players can play in live Spin & Go tournaments with a €50 buy-in where a wheel will be spun before the tournament begins informing how big the prize pool will be. These three-max hyper-turbo tournaments mirror a similar format players should already be used to in the popular games featured at PokerStars.
Most of the time players will be playing for double the buy-in; however, if the wheel lands with a lucky spin, players can play up to 20-times the amount of the buy-in or a healthy €1,000.
Additionally, players that love Flipout tournaments on Full Tilt will have the chance to play these games in a live format for the first time. If you are not familiar with how these events work, players are all in until they reach the money, at which point the tournament resumes with normal play until a winner is declared.
