Gamblers Lose $235 Million To Atlantic City Casinos Last Month

September was a great month for Atlantic City casinos.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement said Thursday that the industry’s total gaming win for the month was $235.8 million, compared to $226.6 million for September 2016, reflecting a 4.1 percent increase.

Revenue from the brick-and-mortar setting was $215.4 million, a 2.4 percent increase compared to the $210.4 million won in September 2016.

Internet gaming win was $20.4 million in September compared to $16.2 million in the prior period, reflecting an increase of 25.6 percent, regulators said.

Through the first nine months of 2017, total industry gaming win was $2.039 billion, reflecting an increase of 2.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

Borgata led the way in September with $74.1 million of the industry win, which was about 31 percent of the market.

While gaming win has grown modestly in 2017, profits for the casinos were up some 19 percentthrough the first half of the year.
