Huge Turnout Juices Prizepool At Card Player Poker Tour Venetian Main Event

The $5,000 buy-in Card Player Poker Tour Venetian main event blew away expectations on Tuesday with a huge turnout for day 1b of the $2 million guaranteed tournament.

A total of 412 entered the field during the eight levels of action, and when combined with the 127 who played on day 1a, the total now stands at 539 and a prize pool of over $2.5 million.

In 2016, 537 players entered the main event. This year’s field is already guaranteed to be larger, and registration is still open until 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Furthermore, every player can re-enter if they bust prior to the close of registration.

Leading the way is Eyal Revah, with 234,625. He’ll enjoy a sizable lead over his next closest competitor, Barry Hutter, who bagged the day 1a chip lead with 201,950.

Play resumes Wednesday at noon.

A total of 222 bagged up between the two starting flights. Here’s a look at the top of the overnight chip counts.
