Stephen Chidwick has once again proven why he’s one of the best in the game. The English poker superstar captured the 2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju $200,000 Short Deck title, defeating a stacked 61-entry field to claim $3,445,000 and his third Triton Poker trophy.
With this win, Chidwick’s lifetime tournament earnings now exceed $72 million, making him only the second player in poker history—behind Bryn Kenney ($79.5M)—to surpass the $70M milestone.
Chidwick’s Triton Poker Hat Trick
All three of Chidwick’s Triton victories have come in short deck poker events. He previously won the $20,000 Short Deck in Jeju (2024) and the €100,000 Short Deck Main Event in Madrid (2022).
“Short deck has just been going my way lately,” Chidwick admitted after his win. “Honestly, I came in a little rusty this trip, but somehow things clicked at the right time.”
$12.2 Million Prize Pool & Tough Field
This late addition to the Triton Jeju schedule generated a $12,200,000 prize pool, with the top ten players securing a piece of the action. Wai Kin Yong bubbled in 11th place, while big names like Isaac Haxton (10th), Danny Tang (9th), and Richard Yong (8th) fell just short of the deep run.
The final table was stacked with high-stakes crushers, but Chidwick dominated with a massive chip lead throughout.
- 7th: Winfred Yu – $590,000
- 6th: Elton Tsang – $754,000
- 5th: Daniel Dvoress – $971,000
- 4th: Esti Wang – $1,234,000
- 3rd: Rene Van Krevelen – $1,591,000
- 2nd: Kiat Lee – $2,465,000
- 1st: Stephen Chidwick – $3,445,000
From Four To One In Record Time
Esti Wang’s elimination in fourth place set the stage for a fast finish. Chidwick entered three-handed play with more than 3.5 times the chips of his opponents combined, and he never looked back.
After knocking out Van Krevelen in third place, Chidwick entered heads-up play against Malaysia’s Kiat Lee with a commanding lead. A straight with 10-9 sealed the deal, giving Chidwick the title while Lee settled for $2,465,000, the biggest score of his career.
