Daniel Negreanu Crashes Low-Stakes High School Poker Game In Las Vegas

While numerous of his high-stakes counterparts are currently in London engaged in intense battles for millions, Daniel Negreanu found himself engaged in a poker game with considerably smaller stakes on Sunday evening.

The 49-year-old esteemed member of the Poker Hall of Fame was taking a stroll with his dogs when he was approached by a teenager with a special request.

“One of my friends is coming over in about an hour; we’re having our final poker game before heading off to college. I understand if it’s a big ask, but would you consider dropping by to say hello to them?”

Daniel Negreanu sought the opinion of his Twitter followers and, following an overwhelming response of over 35,000 replies urging him to go, he decided to honor the request. Not only did he pay a visit, but he also brought along complimentary GGPoker merchandise and even joined the game, which was set at stakes of 25¢-50¢ no-limit.

Although the setting of the home game was a modest dining room table, the soon-to-be college students added an air of sophistication by donning shirts and ties, marking the significance of their final poker gathering as youth.

Having experienced a challenging summer at the WSOP, Daniel Negreanu managed to secure a victory in this modest game before ultimately relinquishing his winnings to the students. It’s safe to assume that the students will cherish the memory more than the modest cash involved.
