The 2025 Nevada State Ladies Championship, held during the Women In Poker Spring Festival at South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, attracted an impressive turnout. A total of 451 players each paid a $360 buy-in, easily smashing the $35,000 guaranteed prize pool and generating a total of $137,555 in prize money.
Part of the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS), the event saw 63 players finish in the money. But when the final cards were dealt, only two remained—Laura Westfall and Ruth Hall, who agreed to a heads-up deal that awarded each $20,770.
For Westfall, a poker player from Sheridan, Oregon, this was a career-best score, surpassing her previous top cash of $19,858 in a $600 event at the Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza IV in late 2024. With this win, she also took home the championship title and trophy.
Hall, the 2024 LIPS Player of the Year and winner of the 2022 Nevada State Ladies Championship, added another impressive finish to her résumé. With this latest cash, her lifetime earnings now exceed $350,000.
Also making a deep run was poker legend Kathy Liebert, who finished sixth, banking $3,301. A WSOP bracelet winner and member of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame, Liebert is closing in on $7.2 million in career earnings. She currently ranks third on the all-time women’s money list, trailing only Kristen Foxen ($11.6M) and Vanessa Selbst ($10.9M).
This year’s championship not only showcased fierce competition but also highlighted the continued growth and recognition of women in poker.
