2017 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event Winner Now Guaranteed €1,000,000

The 2017 WSOPE poker festival was already shaping up to be one of the biggest poker festivals of the fall before it was announced that it was going to be even larger than was previously promised. The €10,300 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event was first announced as having a €4 million guaranteed prize pool. That number has been increased to €5,000,000. Also worth noting is that the eventual champion is now guaranteed at least a €1,000,000 payday in addition to earning the championship gold bracelet.

“We are encouraged by the number of early bookings for the WSOPE, so much so that we have raised the total guarantee of the Main Event to €5,000,000 and now guarantee €1,000,000 to the winner!” said King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik. “My advice is to book now and secure your spot.”

The massive poker festival is set to take place at the King’s Casino Rozvadov in the Czech Republic, running from October 19 through November 10, 2017. The entire series will now feature €21 million in guarantees across 84 tournaments, with 11 gold bracelet events accounting for €18 million of the guaranteed prize pools.

This will be the first time the poker series is held in the Czech Republic, having previously taken place in England, Germany, and France.

Buy-ins will range from as high as $111,111 to as low as €550 in the first-ever European Colossus event, which will feature starting dates on Oct. 27 – 31 and a €2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.In addition to no-limit hold’em there are also three pot-limit Omaha bracelets on offer, with one of them being for the eight-or-better variety of PLO.

“I’m so proud that that the WSOP Europe is coming to King’s,” said Tsoukernik. “I started off with a dream and my dream has come true and I hope poker players have their dreams come true too when they see the sheer size and facilities of King’s. With the awarding of WSOP gold bracelets, we have brought a huge piece of Las Vegas to Europe and we aim to deliver Vegas standards with this event too.”

“The WSOP Europe has struggled to find a permanent home since debuting in 2007 because we could never really find the venue or partner to replicate what we have in Las Vegas,” said WSOPExecutive Director Ty Stewart. “But I truly believe in Leon’s vision, his passion and King’s Casino to execute the best WSOP Europe to date. We are bullish in this becoming the European equivalent of the WSOP in Las Vegas, something we have always dreamed of doing when we first began our foray into Europe a decade ago.”
