The Card Player Poker Tour returned to Seneca Niagara Casino last week for the 2018 running of the casino’s popular Fall Poker Classic. The eight-event series sports $370,000 in guarantees, but the centerpiece of the whole affair is the $200,000 guaranteed CPPT $1,000 no-limit hold ’em main event
The event kicks off with the first of three starting flights beginning at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, with the second and third starting flights getting underway at 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16-17. The tournament will wrap up with the final table on Monday, Nov. 19, with the winner taking home not only the top payout, but also a spot on a future cover of Card Player Magazine! In 2017 Guy Klass (pictured) defeated a field of 271 entries to win the $58,608.
Players looking to win their main event seat at a discount can take part in the numerous scheduled $145 qualifiers. The remaining satellites for this event will take place nightly from Sunday, Nov. 11 to Wednesday, Nov. 14, with three additional qualifiers on Friday, Nov. 16, with a last-chance morning qualifier running on Saturday, Nov. 17.
The Seneca Gaming and Entertainment poker room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the first floor of the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel. The 23-table room features 13 big screen televisions, free WiFi, free drinks, free parking, player rewards and spreads a large selection of hold’em, stud and Omaha games. The gaming floor offers roughly 4,000 slot machines, table games and keno.
The world-class gaming facility opened in 2002 as the result of an $80 million remodel of the Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center into a full-service casino. The property also features fine dining, star-studded entertainment, a health and wellness spa and many other premium guest amenities.
