Romania’s Carmen Zainescu shipped the Unibet Open Bucharest €90 #QueenRules Ladies Event for €460 on Friday, Aug. 3 after beating Unibet Poker ambassador and esports sensation Sophia “Djarii” White heads-up. White collected €280 for her runner-up performance.
As a special treat for more than just the ladies, poker princess Molly Bloom hosted the tournament.
Zainescu is looking to add an even bigger win this festival. She is currently playing at the Unibet Open Bucharest €1,100 Main Event final table. The Romanian has her work cut out for her as she entered the nine-max final table in eighth place with eight big blinds.
The Romanian has visibly displayed tons of emotion at the table including when she eliminated two-time Unibet Open Main Event champion Mateusz Moolhuizen. Moolhuizen with :::jc:::tc barreled on all three streets on a :::4s:::4d:::qs:::kc:::3s board including jamming his stack on the river.
Zainescu with :::as:::5h tanked for a few minutes before making the hero call to eliminate Moolhuizen in 35th place for €3,480 on Day 2 of the Main Event. After the hand, Zainescu screamed in delight that her ace-high was good.
Zainescu was already a familiar name at the Unibet Open. When the Unibet Open last visited Bucharest at the end of last year, she cashed in two events including a win in the 2017 Unibet Open Bucharest €100 Ladies Event for €557.
