Giuseppe Pantaleo Wins WSOPC Horseshoe Las Vegas Main Event

The 2024 World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Las Vegas $1,700 no-limit hold’em main event surpassed its $500,000 guarantee with an impressive turnout of 669 entries, effectively doubling the prize pool. A total of $1,013,535 was distributed among the top 101 finishers, with Giuseppe Pantaleo emerging as the champion, collecting $192,831.

Reflecting on his victory, Pantaleo expressed relief, stating, “Yeah, this feels very good because the last five years have been pretty bad in tournaments for me. I’m just very happy to get the weight off my shoulders and have some success.” Despite contemplating giving up on tournaments altogether, Pantaleo’s perseverance paid off as he clinched his third career WSOPC ring and boosted his recorded tournament earnings to over $2.2 million.

The event featured intense competition over three starting flights and two subsequent days. Pantaleo dominated the final day, eventually reaching a head-to-head battle with Peter Hengsakul. Hengsakul secured early eliminations, establishing himself as a formidable opponent.

As the tournament progressed, notable eliminations included Kevin Calenzo and Harvey Alegado, setting the stage for the final showdown. Pantaleo maintained his lead, ultimately sealing his victory against Hengsakul. With an ace-high hand, Pantaleo emerged triumphant, leaving Hengsakul to settle for the runner-up position and a $119,182 payday.
