Downtown Las Vegas has plenty of options for those looking a daily barrage of tournaments, but players need to look no further than the Grand Poker Series at the Golden Nugget, which is running until July 3 and boasts more than $3 million in combined guarantees.
The Golden Nugget has put out a massive schedule that includes 81 different events, with buy-ins ranging from $125 to $1,100 and virtually every poker game spread in the mix.
The series features several highlights, most notably the $1,100 buy-in PokerNews Cup, which has a huge $1 million guarantee. The three-day event also has three separate starting flights from June 24-26.
There’s also the $250,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em tournament, which features unlimited $200 re-entries and nine starting flights from June 9-11, three each day starting at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.
One event players will definitely not want to miss is the $300 buy-in $250,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty event. In this popular format, players will earn a randomly distributed prize for every player they eliminate. This tournament also has nine starting flights, running from June 17-19.
It all wraps up with the $500,000 guaranteed main event from June 30 to July 3. There are three starting flights in this $600 buy-in event.
About The Golden Nugget
Given all of the Golden Nugget’s modern amenities, it’s hard to believe this Las Vegas legend first opened in 1946.
The property has 2,419 rooms, one of the largest properties north of the center Strip. The Fremont Street Experience casino also has an eye-popping pool with a built-in shark tank slide, a highly-rated spa and salon, and some of the finest restaurants downtown.
Unlike other casinos which treat poker as an afterthought, the Golden Nugget poker room is very much front and center, adjacent to the main casino floor. The smoke-free room has 13 cash-game tables, with comfortable seating and plush decor. Televisions are also situated above and all tables are equipped with phone chargers.
