Terrence Chan Wins First WSOP Bracelet In Online Limit Hold’em Championship

The 2023 World Series of Poker Online has started revealing its official results. Last week marked a significant moment as Terrence Chan clinched his first-ever WSOP bracelet.

Terrence Chan’s journey in the World Series of Poker dates back to 2005 when he cashed for the first time, securing the 12th place in the $2,500 pot-limit hold’em event. This Canadian player, who has also made a name for himself in the poker industry and pursued a career as a professional MMA fighter, has since cashed in 44 WSOP bracelet events, accumulating nearly $900,000 in earnings. After numerous close calls spanning over a decade and a half of fierce competition, Chan finally emerged victorious. He outlasted 124 entries in the WSOP Online $2,500 limit hold’em championship on GGPoker, pocketing $64,021 along with the coveted bracelet.

This marked Chan’s ninth appearance at a WSOP final table, with seven of those being in his preferred limit hold’em format. With this triumph, his recorded tournament earnings have soared to almost $1.3 million.

Many prominent figures in the poker world also made impressive runs in this event, including Dzmitry Urbanovich, a European Poker Tour champion (20th place); Espen Sandvik, a bracelet winner (19th place); Dario Sammartino, the 2019 WSOP main event runner-up (14th place); Josh Arieh, a six-time bracelet winner (13th place); Samuel Bernabeu, a bracelet winner (8th place); Jesse Lonis, a two-time bracelet winner (6th place); and Espen Jorstad, the 2022 WSOP main event champion (2nd place).

Chan denied Jorstad his third bracelet, as the Norwegian poker professional had previously earned two in 2022, winning the tag team event alongside Patrick Leonard and claiming the $10,000,000 prize in poker’s world championship. Jorstad’s total earnings now surpass $15.6 million, following his $48,330 prize for finishing second in this event.
