Jaime Haletky Wins Second Thunder Valley WSOP Circuit Main Event Title

The Walnut Creek native captured his second WSOP Circuit Main Event championship at Thunder Valley in Lincoln, California, outlasting a competitive field to claim $205,460 and his second WSOP Circuit ring at the venue.

The Thunder Valley WSOP Circuit series has officially concluded, crowning 16 new ring winners over the past few weeks, with Haletky headlining the festival’s marquee event.

Thunder Valley WSOP Circuit Main Event

Haletky entered the final table with the second-largest stack, putting himself in prime position to make a deep run. Early on, he exercised patience, allowing other short stacks to collide while he conserved chips and waited for the right moments to strike.

The tone shifted dramatically during five-handed play.

Poker in Manhattan

Haletky check-raised Don Landwirth all-in after flopping both a straight draw and a flush draw. When the flush completed on the turn, Landwirth was eliminated in fifth place ($49,040), and Haletky surged forward with renewed momentum.

That momentum continued against Julius Roque (4th – $67,920). From the small blind, Haletky shoved with 6♠9♠, only for Roque to look down at pocket tens. Despite being well behind, Haletky completed yet another flush on the river, ending Roque’s run in dramatic fashion.

Haletky then rivered another flush to seize the chip lead over Casey Sandretto, eventually eliminating him in third place ($95,650).

Heads-Up Battle for the Ring

The heads-up matchup against Franklin Chavez lasted under two hours. Chavez managed an early double-up to gain momentum, but Haletky quickly reasserted control.

The final hand saw Chavez shove with top pair on the turn, only to run into Haletky’s flopped two pair, sealing the victory and the title.

Chavez finished runner-up, earning $136,920, while Haletky added another major trophy to his resume.
